Spring School of Scottish Dancing 2013
The First Spring School of Scottish Country Dancing was held in Voronezh from 5 to 12 May 2013.
49 people from 11 different cities - Moscow, Klimovsk, Yaroslavl, Saint Petersburg, Voronezh, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Cheboksary and Perm - attended the school.
The course for SCD teachers and exams for Unit 2 and Unit 3 were organized for the first time in Russia. Malcolm Brown was the tutor in this course. The examiners from RSCDS were invited. 13 candidates successfully passed exams for the RSCDS Teaching Certificate Part 1.
Experienced teacher and brilliant musician Andrew Nolan and well known and beloved in Russia Malcolm Brown taught the series of workshops for all interested in Scottish Country Dancing. The dancers also volunteered to help the candidates by dancing on the Unit 3 exams.
Two social dancing evenings and Scottish ball, as well as the city sightseeing tour were organized during the Spring School.
